Tendon Mechanics Strength Mechanical Testing Clinical LOWER EXTREMITY TENDON STRENGTHS - IMPLICATIONS FOR POSTERIOR TIBIAL TENDON RECONSTRUCTION

چکیده
Introduction: Posterior tibial tendon reconstruction frequently involves transfer of the flexor digitorum longus (FDL) tendon to the navicular and debridement of the diseased portion of the posterior tibial tendon as well as a calcaneal osteotomy and possibly a lateral column lengthening. If the posterior tibial tendon muscle appears to have some contractile property then it is anastamosed to the transferred FDL tendon creating the unusual situation in which two muscle bellies share one tendon.

Anatomic Spring Ligament and Posterior Tibial Tendon Reconstruction: New Concept of Double Bundle PTT and a Novel Technique for Spring Ligament
A new technique in spring ligament reconstruction using medial half of posterior tibial tendon is demonstrated as a means of supporting the arch. In addition a new concept of double bundle PTT reconstruction based on anatomical attachments of original PTT is presented with the goal of obtaining the full function of PTT.

Tendon rupture in dogs is generally the result of a direct trauma. This report described the use of adjacent muscle autogenic fascial graft for reconstruction of distal rupture of long digital extensor tendon in a dog. A two-year-old male mix breed dog, was presented with a non-weight bearing lameness of the right hind limb and a deep rupture of lateral side of right tarsus. History taking reve...
متن کاملThe effect of flatfoot deformity and tendon loading on the work of friction measured in the posterior tibial tendon.
BACKGROUND There is limited information regarding the mechanical factors contributing to the progression of posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. Therefore, an investigation of the mechanical forces on the posterior tibial tendon may improve our understanding of this pathology. METHODS The gliding resistance and excursion of the posterior tibial tendon in the retromalleolar region was measured...

متن کاملThe Role of Tibialis Posterior on Foot Kinematics during Walking
Many overuse injuries of the lower extremity are associated with excessive/prolonged pronation of the foot during gait. Pronation is a complex motion and its quantification during gait has mainly been limited to rearfoot motion. However, foot pronation also occurs across the more distal joints of the foot. Thus it is pertinent to quantify both rearfoot and forefoot motion when assessing pronati...
